"Weekend" Ski Breaks
Get the most from a short ski break
From €310 euros per person (based
on 4 sharing)
19 December 2010- 31 March 2011
Getting away for a full week skiing is great but not always
possible. Our "weekend" ski break allows you to grab a few days on the
slopes, without having to use too much of your annual holidays.
Everything is organised to make sure you get the most time possible on the
slopes
Private taxi transfers will take you directly from Salzburg airport to
your apartment, and depending on arrival time you can then head for the slopes.
Each morning after a filling continental breakfast, you will be whisked straight
to the slopes ready for a full day skiing. No waiting for ski buses or carrying
your skis! Guests normally choose to ski the excellent Dachstein West region,
but if you are looking for something a little "gentler" you can always
choose to ski at Postalm. Both resorts are a 30 minute transfer from the
apartment.
On your first day, we will be there to speed you through equipment
hire, organise your ski passes and point you in the direction of the best
slopes.
After a full day on the slopes return to the comfort of your
apartment to enjoy a warming Gluhwein and Cakes.
Each apartment is well equipped, if you want to do your own
cooking. Alternatively there are plenty of excellent, well priced restaurants in
Bad Ischl. Your apartment is available from the time you arrive until you leave
for the airport. So you can even get a full day skiing in on your last
day, if you pick your flights well. To give you an idea - Last year one
group came Ryanair from Stansted to Salzburg on the Thursday evening flight,
they skied all day Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and returned to the UK on
the Monday evening flight.
Included in the price are:
- Self catering accommodation in a one bedroom apartment
- Continental Breakfast room service
- Private airport transfer from Salzburg airport
- Ski Pass for Dachstein West ski region
- Complimentary transfers each day directly to the slopes
- Gluhwein and cakes each afternoon when you return from
skiing

FAQ's
What is Dachstein West like?
Dachstein West is one of the "hidden
treasures" of Austrian skiing. 140 kilometres of well prepared piste,
mainly intermediate runs and blissfully uncrowded even in the peak month of
February. The mountain scenery is breathtaking! There are plenty of traditional
huts to stop for a break.
Can I hire equipment in resort?
We normally start to ski from Gosau or Russbach. There are excellent hire shops
at the bottom of the main slopes in each village.
Can I book ski lessons?
Yes you can, but we always recommend that you have private lessons. Ski courses
tend to start on a Sunday or Monday here and don't fit in well with weekend
skiing. Private lessons give concentrated one to one or small group tuition. We
recommend advance booking, especially at peak times over Christmas, New Year and
throughout February. We can arrange lessons for you if you wish.
Are there any non-ski activities?
Away from the slopes there is plenty to
do. Why not try ice skating, sleigh rides, snow shoe walking, toboganning
or cross country skiing. Have coffee and cakes at the famous Zauner's Konditorei.
Take a relaxing swim and sauna at the Thermal Spa ( ideal for relaxing muscles
after a day on the slopes). If you can drag yourself away from the skiing, take
a trip to the lovely city of Salzburg.
How long is the airport transfer?
From Salzburg airport to Haus Strutzenberger is just under an hour by
private taxi transfer.
