Beginner's Ski Breaks
all you need to get started on the slopes!

Postalm ski resort, near Bad Ischl,is a beginner's paradise. Gentle runs in a high sunny plateau and plenty of places to eat  and to rest your legs after a few hours on the slopes!

We can remember our first time skiing - we started on the wrong side of 30! - and really needed someone to "hold our hand" on the first day.

On your first day we will go with you to hire equipment, sort out ski passes and make sure you get to your ski class in one piece. Each day we will transfer you right to the slopes, so there is no carrying skis or squeezing onto a skibus. We arrange 2 hours of private tuition with the excellent ski school at Postalm to give you a really flying start. We'll even join you  at the end of the day to share your adventures over a beer ( but only if you really insist!)

Included in the price are:

  • 4 nights self catering accommodation in a one bedroom apartment
  • Hire of skis and boots for 3 days
  • Ski pass for Postalm Ski Area for 3 days
  • 2 hours private tuition for each guest
  • Complimentary transfers each day directly to the slopes.

We can also tailor this break to your requirements to include longer stays, continental breakfast and airport transfers. Just contact us for details.

FAQ's

What do I need to wear? Do I really need ski gear if I'm a beginner?
Yes you will need ski gear, it can get very cold in the mountains and you need clothes which dry quickly if you fall over. If you are not sure what to get, we can always let you know.

Do I have to have a ski lesson on my own?
No  - if you want to have a lesson with someone else in your party that is OK provided they are at roughly the same level as you. If you want to do this, let us know and we can adjust the price accordingly.

I've skiied before  - is this break for me?
Postalm has some lovely slopes for 2nd time skiers, but it is not the place if you want to burn down reds and blacks all day. The resort of Dachstein West  is ideal for this and there is a free skibus there from Bad Ischl. It would be a shame to miss the others skiing for the first time though!

Can I snowboard instead?
Yes

Do I need to be fit?
It helps but the road to most ski slopes is paved with the good intentions of those who said they'd get fit and never quite made it to the gym!
